One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is, "My credit score isn't good enough to buy a home."

The truth? Your credit score is only one piece of the puzzle. Lenders also look at your income, employment, debt-to-income ratio, savings, and the type of loan you're applying for.

While a higher credit score can help you qualify for better rates and more loan options, you don't need perfect credit to buy a home. Many buyers qualify with credit scores that are much lower than they expected.

If you've been putting off buying because you assume your credit isn't good enough, don't count yourself out before you know your options.
