To those of you currently with an ACA marketplace health insurance plan: Increase of premiums notices are either currently on their way to you in the mail, or will be mailed out soon. If you are healthy and currently on an ACA plan, you are already paying too much each month for your health coverage. After you receive that premium increase letter, you will be paying even more. This doesn't have to be the case though.
There are private health insurance plans out there, that reward people based on their health. Think of it like this: say you have a spotless driving record. No accidents, no tickets, nothing. And let's say I have multiple DUI's, moving violations, super speeder tickets, etc. Do you think it's fair for you to pay the same amount in auto insurance as me? It absolutely is not. So why should a healthy individual be stuck paying the same ACA monthly premiums as someone who has had a stroke, multiple heart attacks, has been to rehab multiple times for drug/alcohol abuse? Or have to pay increased premium rates to make up for those out there who can't afford to pay their premiums and are getting HUGE government subsidies and YOUR premiums for their coverage? You shouldn't.
Those ACA plans also, generally speaking, have limited HMO networks. You are stuck using doctors/facilities in your zip code and anything outside of your zip is considered out-of-network. Give me a call, shoot me a text, or send me a message on here, and lets take a look at some other options to get you and your family they coverage they actually need, and at a lower cost than an ACA plan.
