Medicare Annual Enrollment will continue through December 7th. Keep in mind Open Enrollment goes from January 1 through March 31st. That’s where you can switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another or go from a Medicare Advantage plan to traditional Medicare and a Prescription Drug plan. You are allowed to make 1 change during Open Enrollment.

Medicare does cover ophthalmologic expenses like cataract surgery, but it does not cover routine eye exams, glasses, and contact lenses. Some Medicare Advantage plans cover routine vision care and eye glasses. Medicare Supplement plans do not cover Vision coverage. UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare Supplement offers a vision discount through AARP.

For folks with Medicare. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services has initiated a Special Election Period through June 30, 2020 because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. If you had a valid election period but did not make an election during that time period you are now eligible to use this Special Election Period. Let me know if you have any questions.
