⚠️ Flood Watch Preparation: Sandbags Available Thursday
A Flood Watch is in effect for our area from Thursday at 2 p.m. through Friday at 5 a.m. Due to the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding, sand and sandbags will be available for residents who need them.

Residents should bring their own shovel to fill sandbags. City staff will monitor supply levels and restock materials as needed.
Stay weather aware, monitor local forecasts, and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Turn around, don’t drown.

🚧 Heads up, Maricopa drivers — road work is coming up in early May!

A few roadway projects are scheduled in early May as part of the City’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve our streets. Here’s what to expect and when:

May 1–3 (Weekend Closure):
John Wayne Pkwy & Cobblestone Dr
The northbound right-turn lane will be closed while crews pave a new right-turn lane into the commercial area at the northeast corner of John Wayne Pkwy & Smith-Enke Rd.

May 4–22 (Full Closure):
Reis Dr & Rancho El Dorado Pkwy
The entire intersection will be closed for roadway repairs.
No through traffic — please use alternate routes.
Local access will be maintained where possible.

May 4–7 (Overnight Work | 9 PM–4 AM)
John Wayne Pkwy & Smith-Enke Rd
Crews will conduct pavement warranty work, requiring turn lane closures each night.
