🏡 MILTON INSURANCE AGENCY – STORM UPDATE 🌀

We hope everyone made it safely through the storm!

Our office remains closed today, Monday, October 12, but we will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, for normal business hours.

We also want to update our customers who are waiting to purchase or make changes to their insurance policies.

Due to the recent hurricane, several insurance companies have placed temporary binding moratoriums in effect. This means they may temporarily restrict new policies, coverage increases, and certain policy changes until the restrictions are lifted.

Our team will continue checking with our insurance carriers and will work to get everyone’s coverage taken care of as soon as restrictions are lifted.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

🏠 Have your homeowners insurance with Citizens? It may be time to shop again.

There is an important change coming in 2027 that Citizens policyholders need to be aware of.

Beginning January 1, 2027, Citizens is expanding its flood insurance requirement. For applicable residential policies with wind coverage, flood insurance will be required regardless of the value of the home — even if the property is not located in a high-risk flood zone.

But here's the part we really want local homeowners to know:

Just because Citizens was your best—or maybe your only—option when your policy was written doesn't mean it still is today.

Florida's homeowners insurance market has changed. We represent several private insurance companies, and we're seeing more opportunities to move homes out of Citizens and back into the private market.

If you're currently insured with Citizens, let us shop it.

We'll check our companies to see what options are available and compare the coverage and premium. If Citizens is still your best option, you'll know. But you may be surprised at what's available now.
