Casey Ahlbum - Medicare Advisor Guiding friends and neighbors, age 64+, through Medicare so that you can relax and life life, on your terms!

My clients often refer to me as their "Medicare Co-Pilot". It's your journey, and I'm here to guide you through it. I help seniors and retirees avoid the hidden healthcare costs associated with Medicare. My family and I have been helping seniors for over 30 years and we're grateful that many of the folks we talk to end up sending their friends to us. As an independent agency, we have exclusive acc

ess to plans that aren't available to captive agents. Whether you're enrolling in Medicare for the first time, or need to switch plans, we're here to help you every step of the way!

One of the questions I get asked is, "Why should I work with an independent Medicare agent?"

The obvious answer is that I can compare plans from multiple insurance companies.

But the bigger advantage is something most people never think about...

I get to choose which companies I recommend.

Just because I can represent a company doesn't mean I will.

Before I recommend a Medicare Supplement carrier, I'm looking at much more than today's premium. I'm looking at financial strength, long-term rate stability, customer service, claims experience, and whether I believe they'll still be taking good care of their policyholders years from now.

At the end of the day, every recommendation I make has my name attached to it.

If I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending a company to my own family, I have no business recommending it to yours.

That's the standard I try to live by every day, and it's one of the reasons I believe working with an independent advisor makes such a difference.

If you're approaching Medicare and would like an objective review of your options, send me a message or give me a call. I'd be happy to help you make a confident decision.

One of the biggest decisions in Medicare comes down to how you want to pay for your healthcare.

Some plans have a higher monthly premium but very little cost when you use medical services.

Others have a lower monthly cost but require copays and expenses each time you receive care.

Understanding the difference between predictable monthly costs and pay-as-you-go healthcare expenses can make a big impact on your long-term budget.

I recently spoke with a nice couple....they weren't my clients but were referred to me when they needed help.

He had been diagnosed with a form of pulmonary fibrosis, and they had signed up for an advantage plan when they joined Medicare, a few years ago.

His doctors all recommended Mayo Clinic for specialized care, but guess what? They don't take most advantage plans.

Unfortunately, because he was already diagnosed, I wasn't able to get him into the Medicare supplement plan he so desperately wanted and needed.

That's why the decisions you make when you start Medicare are more than just another enrollment decision. They dictate how your care will work for years to come.

Want help walking through it? I put together a free training called the Medicare Enrollment Road Map. Just type "GUIDE" in the comments and I'll send it your way.

A lot of people tell me, “I’ve got time. I’m still healthy.”

And honestly… that’s usually the best moment to start.

When you feel strong. Clear-headed. Not rushed.

Decisions made from stability tend to hold up better later.

Waiting until something forces the conversation isn’t strength. It’s pressure.

Planning works best when it’s proactive, not reactive.

The biggest Medicare mistakes rarely feel like mistakes at the time.

They feel logical.

“I’ll just enroll when I retire.”
“That Advantage plan sounds fine.”
“It’s probably like my employer coverage.”

But small assumptions at 65 can turn into long-term limitations.

Missing your enrollment window.
Losing guaranteed access to a Supplement.
Choosing a network plan without realizing how it works.

None of those decisions are dramatic in the moment.

They just happen quietly.

I recorded this video because most of these problems can be avoided with one clear conversation before you enroll.

If you’re turning 65 or planning to leave employer coverage, planning ahead now can save you stress, restrictions, and financial surprises later.

Clarity first. Decision second.

Type GUIDE to see how to avoid pre-approvals and keep healthcare decisions in your hands.

Changing careers is a big step.
For those at or near Medicare age, it can also be a confusing—and sometimes risky—time when it comes to health insurance. COBRA rules change at 65, and one wrong move can leave you with expensive coverage gaps or penalties down the road.

We help people navigate these transitions so they can move forward with confidence, knowing their health coverage is solid and portable—whether they’re still working full time, easing into retirement, or fully retired.

If you or someone you know is facing a career change near Medicare age, let’s talk through your options before you make a decision. The right choice could save you thousands and give you peace of mind.
