When we launched The Legacy Dialogues, we wanted to create a space for conversations that matter.

Conversations about purpose, service, generosity, and the impact we have on one another every day.

In this episode, our founder Marcel V. Quiroga shares the experiences that have shaped her view of legacy, from growing up in a family that believed in helping others, to witnessing poverty firsthand in Bolivia, to becoming a mother and recognizing the profound responsibility we have to model our values for the next generation.

One of the most meaningful moments in this conversation was reflecting on a simple question a priest asked her years ago:

“Marcel, what are you going to do for Bolivia?”

That question stayed with her. And it reminds all of us that we have a responsibility to contribute to something greater than ourselves.

Our work with families has taught us that people want their lives to mean something. Financial success matters, but what most families ultimately care about is how their values, character, and generosity will live on through the people they love.

That is why we believe:

Legacy is not someday. Legacy is today.

Every interaction, every act of kindness, every decision to serve adds to the legacy we are creating right now.

Recently, a client came into a meeting with several pages of AI-generated analysis about their portfolio.

Charts, comparisons, recommendations, and a lot of thoughtful questions.

Honestly, we loved it.

We want our clients to be curious. The more engaged they are, the better our conversations tend to be.

But as we reviewed everything together, we stopped talking about the portfolio and started talking about life.

A future business transition. Family relationships. Retirement goals. The opportunities they were excited about. The concerns that were keeping them up at night.

And it reminded us that while AI can analyze a portfolio, it cannot fully understand the person behind it.

It does not know the conversations happening around the dinner table.

It does not know the family dynamics influencing an estate plan.

It does not know what success truly looks like for a specific family.

The numbers matter. The analysis matters.

But the real value comes from understanding the person, their priorities, and what they are trying to accomplish with their wealth.

That is what we show up for every day, not just helping families manage money, but helping them make decisions that align with the life they want to build.

AI will continue to make all of us better informed. But the most important conversations still happen between people.

We started TQM Wealth Partners because we kept seeing the same gap.

People were navigating some of the most important transitions of their lives, a business sale, a divorce, an inheritance, retirement, and everyone was focused on the numbers.

Very few people were talking about purpose.

Very few people were asking what all of it was meant to accomplish.

We wanted to build a firm that started there.

What we did not anticipate was how much of this work would extend beyond financial plans and spreadsheets. Over the years, we found ourselves helping families have conversations they had been putting off for years.

Conversations about values. About family dynamics. About the lessons they hope their children carry forward. About the impact they want their wealth to have long after they are gone.

Helping someone manage their wealth and helping them understand the purpose behind it are not separate things. They are the same work.

Both require trust. Both require honesty. Both require someone willing to listen carefully and ask the question nobody else in the room is asking.

Ten years ago, we knew the kind of impact we wanted to have. We did not know exactly what TQM Wealth Partners would become.

What began as a financial advisory firm became a place where families could make better decisions, have more meaningful conversations, and connect their wealth to what matters most.

We are grateful for every client, every team member, and every conversation that helped us get here.

Do we show up perfectly in real life?
No.

We have spent years building a firm, advising families through some of the most important decisions of their lives, and leading a team we care deeply about.

We still walk out of some conversations wishing we had said something differently.

We prepare. We think through the discussion. We know what matters.

Then the moment arrives, and it never goes exactly as planned.

That never completely goes away. And we have learned that it does not have to.

Our founder has sat in rooms where she was the only woman. The only Latina. The youngest person. Those experiences shaped everything about how we show up for our clients today.

Confidence is not certainty.

The people we admire most are not the ones who never doubt themselves. They are the ones who keep moving forward despite the doubt.

They do the work. They prepare. They speak up. They make the decision. Then they learn and do it again.

Real confidence is built through action, not certainty.

We are still learning. Still growing. Still finding better ways to serve the families and communities who place their trust in us.

Showing up imperfectly will always matter more than waiting to be perfect.

Last night our founder Marcel Quiroga joined some of the most remarkable women-led organizations in Massachusetts at the Women's Edge VIP Reception at Encore Boston Harbor.

There is something quietly powerful about being in a room where every person built something meaningful and did it on their own terms. No one in that room was waiting for permission.

To the Women's Edge community, thank you for creating a space where leadership like this is recognized, celebrated, and connected.

The ranking will be revealed in October. We are proud to be in such good company.

Tomorrow is our 4th Annual Win-4-All Pickleball Tournament and we could not be more excited.

But while we love pickleball, the real reason this event means so much to us is what happens around it. Laughter, friendly competition, old friends reconnecting, new friendships forming, and our community coming together for something bigger than a game.

Every dollar raised supports Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn. Girls in our community who deserve opportunities, mentors, and experiences that help them recognize their potential and build confidence in their future.

When we invest in girls, we invest in stronger communities.

Tomorrow's tournament is officially sold out and our hearts are full. Thank you to every player, sponsor, volunteer, donor, friend, and neighbor who makes this possible year after year.

Imagine if, for just one day, you stopped asking:

Too many women in our community spend their lives pouring into everyone else while running on empty themselves.

Four years ago, our founder Marcel Quiroga had a simple idea. Bring together community and create opportunities for girls to thrive.

That idea became the Win-4-All Pickleball Tournament.

This year we are hosting our 4th Annual Tournament benefiting Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn. And we are proud to share it is officially sold out.

Last year, together we raised more than $35,000. This year, our goal is to do even more. Every dollar raised helps girls in our community discover their strengths, build confidence, and prepare for bright futures.
