Is summer fun putting a squeeze on your finances? You might consider the skip-a-payment offer from Campbell Federal Credit Union instead of putting more debt on high-interest credit cards. You’ll free up cash and enjoy your good times more! Now, don’t forget that payment simply gets tacked onto the end of the loan, so you’ll still end up paying it … and the interest will continue to accrue during the month. But it can still be a lot cheaper than plastic!

As summer ends and we all get back to reality, it’s a good time to give your finances a tune-up. Go over your budget for any fine-tuning it may need. This is also a great time to take a “financial fast,” spending a weekend without spending anything. As we change from the hottest months to cooler times, optimize your energy usage around the house to save big. For supplies for next summer, check out end-of-season sales. If you haven’t already, set up automatic deductions from your checking account into savings. Finally, set up a vacation club savings account for next year’s vacation!

Passwords are the keys to your accounts and personal information! They’re a hot commodity for anyone looking to steal your identity; you need to take every precaution to make sure they can’t. Keeping your passwords on your phone or in a random file on your computer is like putting your house key under the doormat; it’s the first place a hacker will look. Try these alternatives: Use a password manager like Bitwarden or use offline storage like a written notebook stored securely in your home. In addition to safety measures like changing your passwords often and not giving them to anyone, create an uncrackable password from the get-go. Select a base password, then make it more complicated by adding numbers and symbols. This “base password” should be something that is meaningful to you, but would mean nothing to identity thieves after your information. While it may seem like a lot of effort up front, protecting yourself is always worth it.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated and helped make this effort possible.

It was a pleasure welcoming Zachariah Smith to the office.

Zachariah recently graduated from Maple Shade High School and is the first recipient of the Campbell Federal Credit Union Scholarship. During his visit, he had the opportunity to meet with our Vice President Charles Lannutti, President David Ardire and Chairman of the Board Leonard Schafer to celebrate this exciting milestone.

This fall, Zachariah will be attending West Chester University, where he plans to major in Finance. We are proud to support his educational journey and look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes.

Congratulations, Zachariah! We wish you all the best in your studies and future success.
