Average is a choice. It may be the most expensive one you will ever make.

Many people spend their career searching for the line that marks enough. Enough to stay employed. Enough to fit the job description. Enough to get by.

Leaders who change industries, who command boardrooms and respect don't seek out the minimum. They push for The Maximum.

Greatness is a marathon, not a sprint. It's about showing up when you don't "FEEL" like it. Then you over-deliver when only you are watching. You purposely push past good enough until it's GREAT.

A new midlife crisis is beginning to takeover for quite a few Americans.

Wages not keeping up with the rise in cost of living. Companies have decided to layoff their workforce for various reasons. AI is changing the way business is valuing the skills that humans possess.

For those reasons 40+ years old students are beginning to school in hopes of changing their narrative. I can imagine balancing academics with the other responsibilities that come along with exiting your 30s can be challenging. Not to mention taking on more debt during the time in life where you are generally eliminating it.

Let's say college cost about 30k a year. Your new advanced degree may require 2 years. That's an additional 60k you have accumulated. If the new credentials do create an additional 60k plus interest during your earning years who is actually winning?

I was once on the other side of these transactions working in the mortgage industry. I was apart of a large company that is no longer in business (I think). When it was going well, it was lucrative for everyone.

When it slowed down, it almost came to a halt. One year 15% of the workforce was laid off just before Christmas.

Much of the success depended on the economy. As the economy looked promising then consumers felt confident in taking on long term debt. When it doesn't look good nobody is taking on any new debts.

I have pivoted from that reality to a different industry that isn't affected by those cycles as much.

I joined our organization a couple of years back for 1 primary reasons, The Generational Pension Plan.

I had been in the financial services industry for a few years and experienced some success. The trips overseas I earned was the reason for me to get a passport as an adult. Despite all that I built I knew if something happened to me what I built would be lost.

I knew that if Chantel predeceased me, what I achieved in this industry would be lost. As if it were any other job. Usually when a spouse passes their income stops because it's linear and can't be passed on. Chantel had the opportunity to continue to receive what I had built, but it would require her to get a license. That wasn't going to happen.

After her passing I looked at opportunities in other industries that could possibly enable me to passing my hard work to my heirs. Then I was introduced to our organization and saw how I could achieve my goal inside of this industry. It had me recalibrate and focus in a different place.

If you ever read the book The 7 habits of highly effective people, you will see habit #2 is Begin with the end in mind. That's what I have the chance to do now.

Fast forward a couple of years. Unfortunately one of colleagues met the inevitable fate we all will endure. Fortunately for him like myself he left his old organization and partnered with us. This enables his family to receive The Generational Pension Plan he created. His legacy is cemented.

For me and thousands of other people in our organization, it's fantastic to see the promises we are working towards being delivered. When I see these delivery trucks now a days, I think of us delivering on the promises.

Food, Fun, and Family. What more could we ask on a day we gave thanks. My oldest daughter is a teacher so you came up with some very creative games. They made us think. It was interesting to hear the answers some of came up with.

We are a very smart, resourceful, and skilled group of adults and young adults. It's also incredible to witness everyone's individual journey. We are truly our ancestors wildest dreams. I hope you had as great of a time yesterday doing what you enjoyed.
