With severe weather in the forecast, now is a good time to stay alert and prepared.

Keep an eye on local updates and take a few minutes to secure anything around your home or property. Most importantly, make sure you and your family have a plan when storms move in.

There seems to be fairly high confidence that our area is going to get some strong thunderstorms this afternoon into the night. These storms may produce large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.

As a reminder for those without basements, we have two local storm shelters: St. Joseph Catholic Church (207 S. Main St) and Manteno Church of the Nazarene (698 N. Locust St.).

To enter St. Joe's use the south, lower doors that lead straight down to the basement. At the Nazarene church use the main doors and turn to the right upon entering.

Unfortunately, no animals of any kind are allowed in either shelter.

Last Friday, we got together for our Annual Agency Meeting. We spent the day reflecting on the year behind us, setting goals for the year ahead, and celebrating the people who make Compass what it is. We’re incredibly grateful for our hardworking team and the customers who trust us every day! 💙

Last Friday, we celebrated the holiday season at our annual Compass Insurance Christmas party at DESTIHL.💙🎄 It was a wonderful evening to come together as a team, reflect on the year, and enjoy a delicious meal.

We’re so grateful for our amazing staff and all they do to make Compass Insurance what it is. Here’s to finishing the year strong and looking ahead to an exciting 2026! 👏
