🚨 IMPORTANT: 2027 MEDICARE ADVANTAGE CHANGES IN MINNESOTA
If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, it is especially important to review your coverage during this year’s Annual Enrollment Period.
A significant number of Minnesota Medicare beneficiaries will be affected by Medicare Advantage plan changes for 2027. Several major insurance companies are discontinuing, changing, or restructuring Medicare Advantage offerings in various Minnesota counties.
What does this mean for you?
Your available Medicare Advantage plans may look very different for 2027 depending on where you live. This includes areas throughout Southern Minnesota, including Blue Earth, Nicollet, Brown, Waseca, Steele and surrounding counties.
If your current plan is ending or changing, you may have additional options available — but it is important to understand your choices before making a decision.
What about Medicare Supplements?
If you have Original Medicare with a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policy, these changes generally do not affect your existing coverage in the same way Medicare Advantage changes do. However, your prescription drug coverage should still be reviewed each year, as Part D plans and premiums can change.

Don’t wait until the last minute. Medicare Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, with changes generally taking effect January 1, 2027.
