2026 Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 Staff Member of the Month Award. Presented by Jenny Snodsmith - Realty Select One & Kolby Jackson Country Financial. Mrs. Clark is a Science teacher at the Mahomet - Seymour High School. She wins $350 to use in her Classroom!

Lori says her favorite part of her profession is:

"A highlight of being a science teacher at MSHS is helping students become curious about the world around them. Through hands-on learning, labs, and real-world connections, I love seeing students begin to recognize how science is part of their everyday lives. I also hope they carry the lessons they learn in all of our science classrooms beyond the content itself, using curiosity and problem-solving throughout their lives.

I am fortunate to work alongside collaborative coworkers who share ideas, support one another, and contribute to the success of our science classes. It truly takes a team, and I value being part of a school community that works together to help students succeed.

As an MSHS alum and a teacher of 23 years, I cherish the relationships I build in the classroom. I know I play just a small part in each student's educational journey, but I hope I also play a small role in shaping who they become. It is a privilege to be one of the adults in their lives who believes in them, encourages them, and helps them see what they are capable of. I truly value being part of this district and community."

Congratulations to Maddie Morris for winning the October 2026 Fisher CUSD #1 Staff Member of the Month Award! Presented by Kolby Jackson Country Financial and Brandy Simnick-Country Financial. Mrs. Morris is the Ag teacher at Fisher High School. She wins $250 to use in her classroom!

Mrs. Morris says her favorite part of her profession is:

“I love getting to build connections with the students. I hope that by building these relationships, the students will trust me and become more invested in their education. Through FFA I get to see the students take what they have learned in the classroom and apply it to a competition. My hope is that these skills can transfer to a future career for these students. Overall, I get to help shape the future and that is so rewarding!"

Emily says her favorite part of her profession is:

“The thing I love the most about being a teacher is the relationships. Each year, I meet my new crew of second grade "Sailors," as I call them, and we form a family. I get to attend their games and milestones, and I have the privilege of being one of their biggest fans all year long. The relationships we build are treasured forever- I always say, "Once a Sailor, always a Sailor!" The best part is when they continue to include me in their lives long after second grade. "That AND the moment a student falls in love with reading - when it all clicks and their confidence skyrockets.Pure magic!"

Mrs. VanDeven says her favorite part of her profession is:

“Building meaningful relationships with my students and the staff here at Fisher Grade School.I love getting to know each of my students as an individual and seeing when they discover their strengths.When I have a student discover something they are good at or accomplish something they have been working hard at, this is a hilight in my job. Each student has strengths and each student has something special to offer. Success is different for each student and I love helping them succeed. I also love being part of a team and I feel very blessed to be part of a supportive team to help students and I couldn't do my job alone without my team!"

We are proud to bring back the Fisher CUSD #1 Staff Member of the Month Program! Presented by Kolby Jackson Country Financialand Brandy Simnick-Country Financial.We are able to award the monthly winner $250 to be used in their classroom or department and ultimately be spent on the kids. The nomination process is:

1) This award is open to ALL Fisher CUSD #1 staff members. This includes teachers, paraprofessionals, transportation employees, school secretaries, district office employees, lunchroom supervisors and any other Fisher CUSD #1 employee.

2) One winner will be chosen each month from September-December and January-May and presented with a $250 check to use in their classroom/department.

3) Nominees can win ONCE per school year.

4) Co-workers, parents, students, and community members are all welcome to make nominations. Kolby Jackson will select the winner each month based on nominations.

If someone is standing out as a difference maker in the district, we want them to have additional funds to spend on classroom supplies or other needs in their department. I know a lot of teachers spend personal funds to enhance the classroom experience, so hopefully this helps alleviate some of that burden.
