Today we’re saying goodbye to Kurt Pitha, our development manager! He’s heading across the country to start his journey as a pilot in the Marines.

Kurt has been a huge part of our agency for nearly a year now. From contracting questions to organizing team meetings, he does it all. We’ll miss his fun energy and all of the crazy stories that he brings to the office. Thanks for everything, Kurt!!

Update on Luke: He was transferred out of the ICU night before last after his bp stabilized. Yesterday, he had a chest x-ray that showed pneumonia with a pleural effusion (fluid in the lung and between lung and “lung sack”). They are placing a chest tube in 30 minutes and he will be here through Christmas. Most likely this is a complication from influenza exacerbated by him trying not to cough because of the nuss bar placement. When he arrived at the ER Thursday he was dehydrated and received 7 liters of IV fluid and the chest X-ray most likely didn’t show the pneumonia at that time. He will be going home with a central line and will receive antibiotics for a few weeks.
