The Madison County Farm Bureau is donating a BOOK BARN to a Madison Primary school classroom who has gone above and beyond to learn more about agriculture! We are providing the shelf and the Book of the Year, but would love your help adding more books!

Here is the Amazon list, most are under $15!! Be sure to put your name in the gift section so we can add a "Donated by:" sticker to your book! We are hoping to make this an annual event until each classroom has a book barn to help our next generation learn about Virginia's #1 Private Industry that feeds and clothes us all! In person book donations can be received at the Madison Farm Bureau Office.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Virginia Farm Bureau is committed to helping our community recover. All Farm Bureau offices will be open to accept essential relief supplies. If you would like to contribute, please consider bringing any of the listed supplies to your local Farm Bureau office by Monday, October 14th. Our teams will ensure that these supplies are distributed to those in need. Thank you!

Madison Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Women's committee members kicked off Ag Literacy week strong with reading "Logan's Greenhouse" to Pre-school and Kindergarten students at Good Hope Pre-school! The Madison Farm Bureau also donated books for the classroom and activity packets including carrot seeds since Logan searches for carrots in his Greenhouse throughout the book! We are looking forward to continuing the fun in the public schools next month!

We kept the "Berry good fun" growing this morning with reading to the Good Hope Church Preschool in Madison for . Students enjoyed the book and then got to participate in their own Upick Strawberry adventure. Madison Farm Bureau donated two new books to the school for students to learn about agriculture and how their food is grown for years to come!

Today Amanda, Loran, and Courtney spent the day reading “I Love Strawberries” to all of the third graders at Waverly Yowell Elementary School. Celebrating talking about strawberries and learning about the strawberry lifecycle.

The Madison Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Committee had a great recruitment meeting on Saturday! A fun time was had by all learning to paint barns and we discussed plans for future meetings, safety and educational events, as well as fundraising ideas. Thanks Stanley Black and Decker for supporting YF&R Contests - Roger Scott and Amanda Weakley Scott received some of their prizes this week from the AFBF YF&R 3rd place accomplishment in Achievement Award! They'll be at Winter Expo this weekend to tell about their experience too.
