The Actuarial Club is a student-run organization for those interested or majoring in actuarial science.

A career in actuarial science utilizes a person’s knowledge of math, economics, finance and risk theory in the business world.

One more week until the Fall 2021 semester, Actuarial Club! We’re so excited to begin kicking off the new year with all of you soon. On, Wisconsin!

Hello Actuarial Club, and welcome back to a new semester! Though this semester will not be looking like any of our past semesters, we are excited to be committed to hosting many of the events we would normally be hosting in person, but with a virtual twist! The first of these events this semester will be the CCLB Picnic, an amazing opportunity to network with representatives from each of our five CCLB members: American Family Insurance, CUNA Mutual Group, Milliman, Swiss Re, and Travelers. This event will be held jointly with RMIS, and we hope to see all students interested in the insurance and risk management fields, including actuarial science, risk management and insurance, math, statistics, and economics.

This years' CCLB Picnic will take place on Thursday, September 10th, 6:00-7:30 PM. After you register, we will send you a link to your virtual room. As it is a casual picnic, you can enter and leave your room at any time that works for your schedule. We recommend registering in the days leading up to this event, but you may also register starting at 5:45 PM on September 10th and at any time during the event. This year, we will be hosting our representatives virtually through BBCollaborate, where you will have the opportunity to have casual, small-group discussions (i.e. 6-8 students/1 representative) with multiple company representatives. Come join us in the fun at this free and informational virtual picnic; it'll be a fast-moving night with great opportunities to know insurance professionals, meet other students, and receive advice from those in the industry.

As we celebrate the beginning of the school year, we hope to see you all at this fun night filled with great conversation, company, and competitive games. The event will have a casual dress code (e.g. t-shirts, sundresses, Badger gear are all perfect). We look forward to seeing you all there, and On, Wisconsin!

Last night at Picnic Point, we had our first social event of the year! After a being busy with the career fair last week, we enjoyed a bonfire with s'mores, music, and beautiful weather.

Thanks to all of the new and returning club members who joined us, and we look forward to having more fun events throughout the year!

Yesterday we had our last social event of the year–an escape room! We worked together to crack the codes and attempt to escape our rooms before time expired. Thanks to Escape This for having us–we had a ton of fun!

Elections for 2019-2020 officer positions have officially concluded. Huge congratulations to our officers for next year, and thank you to all of those who ran and/or came to vote for candidates! We appreciate your commitment to the Actuarial Club!

Last Tuesday we had our annual spring Karaoke Kickoff! It was an awesome night filled with friends, food, fun, and a whole lot of singing. We even ended the night by singing our time-honored "Varsity" together! Could this be a tradition in the making?

Thank you so much to all club members, new and returning, for joining us last week. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

We have not one but two exciting events to recap in today's post!

Last Friday, we had a Game Night and T-Shirt Designing social event. Club members were able to play some of their favorite board games and video games while eating Cousins Subs and chatting with their peers. We also collected some creative t-shirt design ideas–stay tuned for an opportunity to vote for your favorite!

Tonight we had our annual Mentorship Kickoff event! Mentors and mentees used this opportunity to get to know one another before we get paired up in our "families" for the school year. With over 120 student participants, this is sure to be a rewarding experience for our club members.
