One of our favorite parts of National Funeral Directors Association's International Convention & Expo is the ReConnect event, which celebrates women in deathcare. We are very proud to sponsor this event.

Held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 25, conference attendees are invited to join us in celebrating accomplishments, networking and growing together — fitting for this year's theme of Garden Party! And while she can’t attend the convention, we’ll also honor 2026 Inspiration Award winner Jennifer Schlosser, co-owner of Schlosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Wapakoneta, Ohio.

“NGL is continuously inspired by women in deathcare who deserve to be recognized for all their contributions,” said Judy Olson, NGL's Vice President of Sales and Business Development. “The Inspiration Award doesn’t just celebrate the work you can see — it’s about recognizing the work behind the scenes, too. At NGL, we believe supporting the communities where we live and work means showing up in meaningful ways. That's why we are proud to support the Madison Meals on Wheels program. It provides nutritious meals, Monday through Friday, to local seniors in need.

"After six years of volunteering with Meals on Wheels, I've learned that it's about more than just food. When we arrive at someone's door, we may be their wellness check, their daily conversation and a helpful hand when they need it," said Kim Ranne, Senior Accounting Systems Analyst. "But most importantly, we're delivering a freshly prepared, nutritious meal that helps them stay healthy and independent.”

A trust is a legal arrangement where one party (trustee) holds and manages assets for the benefit of another (beneficiary). Trusts are usually used to manage assets, minimize taxes and provide for loved ones. For example, trusts are used in estate planning to avoid probate, minimize estate taxes and distribute assets according to a grantor’s wishes. Trusts can also be used to manage assets for people who are unable to do so themselves, such as children or people with disabilities.

Revocable trusts, also known as living trusts, can be changed or terminated at any time during the grantor’s lifetime. An irrevocable trust cannot be changed or terminated.
