🏠Protect Yourself from Roofing Scams⛈️

The North Carolina Department of Insurance provided us with this informational flyer and we wanted to pass it along to our citizens.

After severe weather, roofing scammers often target homeowners by going door-to-door or making unsolicited calls. Before signing anything or agreeing to repairs, take a few minutes to protect yourself.

☑️Be cautious of contractors who show up uninvited or pressure you to make an immediate decision.
☑️Verify that the contractor is properly licensed and insured.
☑️Get multiple estimates before committing to repairs.
☑️ Never pay the full amount upfront.
☑️Read all contracts carefully before signing.
☑️Contact your insurance company directly if you have questions about a claim.

A legitimate contractor will understand if you need time to do your research.

If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts. Taking a few extra steps now can save you from costly fraud later.
