⚠️ Homeowners — Watch Out for Insurance Companies That Hide Behind Fine Print (State Farm)

New lawsuits filed in Oklahoma accuse State Farm of running a billion dollar “hail-scheme,” where internal documents show the company created a plan to disguise policy language and claims-handling protocols so it could refuse payment on many wind and hail claims.

For example:

Insiders say State Farm’s “checklist” strategy discouraged adjusters from marking or acknowledging obvious hail/wind damage — meaning even when roofs clearly needed replacing, homeowners were told there was “no covered loss.”

The policy wording has been manipulated so that damage is often categorized as “wear and tear” — which isn’t covered — rather than as storm damage.

If you trust a company with your biggest asset — your home — shouldn’t they actually protect it when disaster hits? This should make you think twice before locking yourself into a carrier that might deny you when you really need coverage.
