At the 142nd Supreme Convention, five councils were honored with International Program Awards in the four Faith in Action categories: Faith, Family, Community and Life. Each council looked to the needs of their community and families in their councils and responded with the same great love that Father Michael McGivney intended for Knights of Columbus to have for brother Knights.
For the Faith Award, college Knights from St. Thomas Aquinas Council 15294 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, spearheaded the idea to cross Missouri in a Eucharistic pilgrimage.
For the Family Award, Mason Council 9182 in Mason, Michigan, responded with generosity to support the widow of a fellow Knight who died in a farm accident. Our Lady of Guadalupe Council 17913 in Lviv, Ukraine, also won the Family Award for the support and funding it provides to assist the needs of orphaned boys.
Pope Pius XII Council 5295 in Narragansett, Rhode Island, won Community Award for its generous monetary and missionary support of adults with disabilities in Jamaica.
Pope St. John XXIII Council 15968 in Spokane, Washington, won Life Award for supporting Maddie’s Place, a pediatric transitional care facility that cares for any baby who is born substance exposed.
