The Sanford Company was founded with the purpose of providing creative alternative risk consulting, third party claims administrative management and insurance brokerage for healthcare related clients. The Sanford Company was founded, October 2002, for the purpose of providing creative alternative risk consulting, third party claims management, administration and insurance brokerage. By assembling

a team of some of the very best, creative and brightest insurance professionals with years of experience on all sides of the healthcare industry, our primary responsibility is to anticipate and provide creative solutions to the insurance problems our clients face. Our current client base includes hospitals, health systems, long term care facilities, physician groups and an international health plan. We are involved with the formation and management of differing alternative risk vehicles for each of these organizations including captive insurance companies, risk retention groups, self insurance trusts or large deductible programs. We understand no two clients are the same so our approach to risk and insurance is to partner with each client in creating and implementing a management program that best suits their individual needs. In addition, The Sanford Company has been an integral part in the formation, marketing, employee enrollment and eligibility, underwriting, policy, plan design and claims management and processing functions for a fully insured medical health insurance product. The program insures several thousand employee lives and utilizes a Preferred Provider Organization with various coinsurance and co-payment plans to provide effective managed care to stabilize health insurance costs to benefit both employers and their employees for their health insurance needs. Neel, Jr. is the founder of The Sanford Company which he started in October 2002. Prior to forming Sanford, Mr. Neel was Vice President of Insurance and Risk Management at Central Georgia Health System (CGHS). CGHS includes the Medical Center of Central Georgia, a 620 bed tertiary care teaching hospital. While employed by CGHS, he was responsible for the formation, management and administration of three Cayman captive insurance companies owned by CGHS. Neel served as Chief Executive Officer for all three of these offshore companies as well as served on the Board of Directors for each. Neel, a graduate of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, is a licensed insurance broker in Georgia and received his CIC designation in 1990. He has been involved with the creation and operations of many captive insurance companies, Risk Retention Groups and other various types of insurance programs. He is a regular speaker at worldwide captive conferences and consults on insurance and risk management issues throughout the United States, Caribbean and London.

Sanford Company Acquires BDH Insurance Solutions in Dalton, Georgia

MACON, GA. — The Sanford Company, an independent insurance group headquartered in Macon, Georgia, has announced the acquisition of BDH Insurance Solutions, an agency serving the Dalton, Georgia community.

BDH Insurance Solutions is owned by Bruce Hehn, who purchased the local agency Tidwell and Talley Insurance in 2019. Under Hehn’s leadership, the agency has experienced significant growth, tripling its revenue while building a strong presence within the Dalton community.

“This is an exciting time for Sanford. We understand there is so much potential in Northwest Georgia and we are looking forward to being a part of the Dalton community,” said John Neel, CEO of The Sanford Company.

As part of the acquisition, Sanford is pleased to announce that Bruce Hehn will become a Senior Vice President and remain as Operations Manager for the Dalton location. Position Summary
The Sanford Company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Professional with experience in multi-entity environment accounting. This role will support financial operations across several lines of business, including insurance agencies, employee benefits, retail operations, and related entities. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, industry-specific knowledge, and the ability to manage complex financial data with accuracy and discretion.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
• Process vendor invoices, client payments, accurate expense allocation and ensure timely posting to the general ledger.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation (filing and archiving)
• Support accounting for P&C Insurance operations, Employee Benefits operations, including commissions, overrides, and vendor reconciliations.
• Support/ Assist audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
Qualifications & Experience
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the insurance industry or a multi-entity environment.
• Experience with accounting systems, agency management systems, and financial reporting tools such as but not limited to QuickBooks. Experience in AMS360 a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong attention to detail.
• Experience with payroll and commission processing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

• Experience working in a growing or complex organization with multiple entities and service lines.
• Comfort handling confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
