MANISTEE, MI – The restoration of a nearly century-old Lake Michigan lighthouse will begin this week, officials announced. Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse, built in 1927, will undergo upgrades this year and open to visitors in 2026, Lakeshore Keepers said in a news release.

Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse will open for tower climbs in 2026.
