How do you start establishing credit when you're young?
Here are 2 tips:
1. If you have a family member willing - you could ask to be added as an "authorized user" to one of their credit cards. This will help you inherit their good credit! ** Make sure they have no lates on this card though!!
2. You can also apply for a secure credit card from a larger bank on your own! (Revolving credit lines always seem to help the fastest just FYI).
If you have no credit at all, most companies will want you to put, say, $300 down, and then will issue you a card based on your own money deposited.
They do this to limit their risk so it is your money, but the credit companies will start seeing your ability to make a payment which is what you want!
Send this post to those graduating HIGH SCHOOL this year so we can help them as early as possible!!
