I got asked a question the other day that kind of stopped me in my tracks. The question was, "What's your life insurance deductible?"
I kind of had to rack my brain with what that would mean, but the answer is simple; my deductible is the amount that my life insurance would have to cover before my family's needs are met. Before it would start to cover wants. When we were first married, I honestly didn't have life insurance, which while it turned out alright, it wasn't the best path to take. Now that we've got two cute little kids, that deductible is much bigger, and honestly, I probably need to increase my life insurance.
If you've got life insurance, I'd ask you, "What's your deductible?" and if the math isn't mathing in your life, now's the time to increase your coverage to not just cover your deductible, but provide a legacy after you're gone.
