Role Description The Licensed Insurance Agent is a full-time, on-site role based in Lugoff, SC. The agent will advise individuals and businesses on appropriate insurance coverage, prepare quotes, and place policies through multiple carriers to meet client needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting coverage reviews, explaining policy options, processing applications and renewals, and managing policy changes. The role involves actively prospecting, networking, and following up on leads to grow the agency’s book of business. The agent will also handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, maintain accurate records in agency systems, and collaborate with the agency owner to support sales goals and community initiatives.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in Insurance Sales and Insurance Brokerage, with the ability to match clients to appropriate products and carriers.
Strong understanding of Insurance concepts and coverage types across personal and/or commercial lines.
Foundational knowledge of Finance to explain premiums, deductibles, risk, and policy value clearly to clients.
Excellent Customer Service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and timely follow-up.
Active state insurance license (Property & Casualty preferred; additional lines such as Life and Health are a plus).
Prior experience in an insurance agency or related financial services environment is highly beneficial.
Ability to work on-site full time in Lugoff, SC, managing multiple client accounts and tasks with attention to detail.
Proficiency with basic office software and agency management systems; willingness to learn new tools.
Strong ethical standards, professionalism, and commitment to client advocacy and community engagement.
