Three students from O.J. DeJonge Junior High in Ludington and Mason County Eastern in Custer have been named local winners in the 57th annual America & Me Essay Contest, sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance!

The students earned first, second, and third place awards for their schools. The first-place essays advanced to the state level competition, from which the top 10 essays in Michigan were selected. The America & Me Essay Contest is the company's oldest public relations program, dating back to 1968. The essay contest is open to eighth graders throughout Michigan and asks students to tell us who their personal Michigan hero is.

Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all the students who submitted an easy. We truly have some amazing heroes in our community!

We planted “Papa’s tree” earlier this month! 🌳

A gift from our team after we lost Erin’s dad. Something living that will grow right alongside our family...such a thoughtful and meaningful gift.

The boys helped plant it, not fully knowing yet how much it means. But one day they will.

I know Mary would rather be celebrating in Mexico - but today marks her 3️⃣ year anniversary with the agency!

Happy National Siblings' Day! From the snowmobiling, dirt bike riding, basketball court in the barn and chasing the big buck on the farm days (ok - I still do that!) - to raising our own families - my brothers have been right there.

Not only that, but I also gained 8 more bonus siblings who are even cooler!!!! (Kidding...kind of ;))
