🚨 New London Before You Sign That Roofing Contract🚨

If you have storm damage to your home, please don't feel pressured to sign a contract with the first contractor who knocks on your door.

After a major storm, you're going to see roofing and restoration companies coming into our community. There are many excellent contractors out there but take your time and do your homework.

First: Call your Insurance Agent and report the claim.
Second: Talk with your Insurance adjuster and, when possible, let them inspect the damage before you agree to repairs.

Third: Use a contractor you know and trust. Ask friends, family, neighbors, or even your Insurance Agent for recommendations. Request a Certificate of Liability Insurance to know in fact they are insured.

Don't sign something you don't understand.

Read the contract.
Ask questions. And if you're uncomfortable or feel pressured, step away and talk to your Insurance Agent first.

A reputable contractor should have no problem giving you time to make an informed decision.

Documenting and Protecting Property...

Take clear pictures and videos: Shoot wide shots and close-ups of all damage before moving anything.

Make temporary fixes: Cover broken roofs with tarps or board up broken windows to stop rain damage.

Keep all repair receipts.

Do not throw items away yet: Wait for the insurance adjuster to look at ruined personal property unless it creates a health risk.
