Here is something I see often:

A business owner who is incredibly gifted at what she does, who serves her clients beautifully, and who pours herself into her work. And she is completely avoiding her finances.

Not because she does not care. Because she is afraid of what she might find.

But clarity, even when it is uncomfortable, is always better than avoidance. Because you cannot lead well from a place of fear.

Knowing your numbers is an act of courage and an act of stewardship.

Perfectionism in business is exhausting.

And it is also, quietly, a form of judgment of ourselves.

When we believe we have to have every answer, never make a mistake, and always project certainty, we are holding ourselves to a standard rooted in fear, not faith.

In our faith, only Christ is perfect. The rest of us are called to show up, do our best, and lean on the people and guidance around us.

That is not settling. That is wisdom and freedom.

A question I ask new clients often: When was the last time you made a business decision and felt completely confident about it?

For a lot of women, the answer is hard to come by.

Not because they are not capable. But because they are making decisions without the clarity that their numbers could give them.

Confidence in leadership is not a personality trait. It is a byproduct of knowing where you stand and having confidence in your numbers.

We read that verse and think about how we treat others.

But the harshest judge in most of our lives?

Is us.

The standard we hold ourselves to in business is one no one could ever fully meet. And yet we keep trying, keep pushing, and keep feeling like we are falling short.

Give yourself the same grace you would give someone you love.
