Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of Black Americans on 19 June, 1865, a significant milestone in the fight for freedom and equality for all Americans. 🙌 🇺🇸

The proudly recognizes Juneteenth: A day of reflection, empowerment, and unity. Together we honor progress, promote justice, and remember the painful history of slavery.

Black Americans have served in the Coast Guard with great honor and distinction for over 230 years. Celebrating Juneteenth highlights the resilience, strength, and contributions of the Black community and their ongoing struggle for freedom and equality.

Opportunities to reflect on different cultures and histories promote deeper understanding, further unit cohesion, and increases mission excellence.

Fire department and police department get an awesome award from Coast Guard.

🔥FIRE🔥FIRE🔥FIRE🔥

Coast Guard Station Manistee would like to recognize and thank our incredible local partners after a fire broke out on the property of Station Frankfort (one of Manistee’s Station Smalls) on April 3rd, 2023.

Chief Lozowski of the Frankfort Police Department and Chief Cedarholm of the Frankfort Fire Department were given a Public Service Award from the Coast Guard for their quick on-scene actions and response. The work of these men and their teams saved our station and prevented further loss of or damage to the property.

We are incredibly thankful for the aid and support that we receive on a regular basis from our local first responders, and we appreciate the opportunity we have to serve alongside these heroes 🇺🇸
