We hear this one all the time. Checking your own credit is a soft inquiry — completely harmless. The scary kind (hard inquiry) only happens when a lender pulls it during an application — and even then it's usually just a few points for a short time.

Moral of the story: go check your credit right now. We'll wait. 😄
