Why did I start SPI?
SPI is short for Stefni Powell Insurance.
My goal in life has been to leave a legacy and to help others do the same. Legacy is important to me because it tells a story - a story of where I came from, where I am now and what the future holds. I can only do so much while here on this earth but I hope that the things I do will continue even after I’m not around anymore. This is not meant to be a sad story but a truthful story because tomorrow is not promised so I try to make everyday count. I was not blessed to sing like Jill Scott or act like Angela Bassett or even born with a silver spoon in mouth so I had to figure out how could I, a JCPS product, Newburg raised, UofL educated black female leave something for the next generation. LET’S START A BUSINESS!
I’ve been in the insurance industry for over 20 years- working for several different insurance companies in many different capacities.
