Capitalis Planning Partners had a great lunch after our quarterly team meeting today! We went to The Table, an incredible, local nonprofit that is making a real difference in our community through its pay-what-you-can model and commitment to serving others. The locally grown produce and BBQ was delicious!

We’re excited to welcome our Northwestern Mutual Summer Intern, Will Faulkner! Will is a student at Western Kentucky University double majoring in Accounting & Finance. He is also completing the Certificate of Financial Planning program.

Will is spending the summer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin working at the Northwestern Mutual home office and is supporting our financial planning function remotely. As an intern, Will receives specialized training from Northwestern Mutual experts, access to senior leadership, mentorship, and networking opportunities. We are incredibly excited for him to learn more about how Capitalis Planning Partners provides financial planning and wealth management this summer prior to completing his undergraduate education next year.

This week, Partner & Director of Investments, Jason Sterrett CFA, CFP®, CPA, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Charter holder, and the Capitalis Planning Partners team were proud to once again sponsor the CFA Institute Research Challenge hosted by the CFA Society Louisville. Jason also served as one of the competition judges.

The Research Challenge is an annual global competition that connects university students with investment professionals from within the CFA Society® network. The competition provides students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and ethics and tests participants' analytical, valuation, reporting writing, and presentation skills.

The 2026 Research Challenge winner was the team from Centre College – congratulations to Carlie Mitchell, Jonah Jackson, Ty Bush, and Omkar Zarikar!

We were so impressed by the participants from each school, and we look forward to watching their future successes.
