Planning ahead for the holiday: Placer, Sacramento, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, and Sonoma County recorder offices will be closed Monday, October 12 for Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day. Alameda, Contra Costa, Monterey, San Benito, San Francisco, and San Mateo remain open. If you have a file closing near the holiday, build the closure into your timeline now.

It's still a seller's market across Northern California — the Market Action Index is averaging in the mid-50s this month. Pricing remains strong (median list averaging ~$1.48M) and inventory stays tight, which keeps momentum on the seller's side even as some markets start to soften.
