Trucking companies like Celadon and many others keep going bankrupt since the cost of trucking keeps going up but the rates keep going down. In 2000 diesel was $1.35 and the avg rate per mile was $1.40. Now you still see loads posted Boston to Laredo for .99cent/mile while the national avg diesel price is above $3/gallon. Until truckers stop taking this loads nothing will change. Either brokers start helping these truck drivers or truck drives have to buckle down and say no to cheap freight. Something has to give soon. I see too many companies going under. Whats your thoughts on this?
