This is the credit repair move most people have never heard of and it is completely legal. IRS Form 4506T will show you every discharged debt you were supposed to receive a 1099C form for. When your lender closed that past due credit card they filed it with the IRS as a profit loss. That debt became cancellation of debt. Taxable income.

And here is the part that changes everything. According to 15 U.S. Code 1681 income is NOT allowed to be reported on your credit report. So that charge off sitting on your credit? It should not be there. Attach your 4506T to your next dispute letter and watch those charge offs get deleted.

Most people see a charge off on their credit report and think it is over. It is not. Here is what they never told you.
