I love this quote because it’s both profound and kind of funny: if someone had figured out the secrets to a happy, successful, meaningful life and could simply write them down for the rest of us, we’d have solved this whole thing by now.

Instead, there are endless books and podcasts about personal growth, happiness, success, relationships, wealth and finding purpose – but no one can hand us the finished answer.

The work of building a full life, however you define happiness and prosperity for yourself, is deeply personal and never really finished.

That’s why the point isn’t to figure it all out as soon as you can, but just to get better every day at living it.
P.S. Part of winning at life is having your money working for you, because freedom is at the core of a life well lived.

I’ve stopped asking myself whether I can have it all.

Instead, I’m asking: What am I trying to build?

A fulfilling career. A strong marriage. Healthy relationships. Financial freedom. Time to actually enjoy the life you worked so hard to create.

Those things rarely happen by accident. They are built intentionally.

The people I admire most have systems that help support the life they want. They automate their investments. They work with experts when it makes sense. They use their money to buy back their time and create more freedom.

That is one of the most powerful ideas in wealth management: money is a tool, not the destination.

Your financial plan should support the life you want to live, not become another thing that demands all of your time and attention.

So take a step back and ask yourself:

What am I actually trying to build?

Then make conscious decisions with your time, money, investments, and energy that move you toward it.

You do not have to do everything yourself. You just have to be an active participant in designing the life you want.

And yes, that means making sure your money is working for you, not the other way around. 💰

We’re taught to save money wherever we can. But what if focusing only on the price tag is actually costing you more?

Financial planning is about more than dollars. Your time, your health, your energy, and your opportunities all have value too.

A cheaper flight might cost you a day of productivity. Cheap shoes might lead to expensive injuries. Doing everything yourself might save money today but cost you valuable hours you could spend growing your career, building wealth, or simply recharging.

Smart money decisions are not about spending more. They’re about understanding the true cost of every choice.

The next time you’re making a financial decision, ask yourself one simple question.

What is this really costing me? 💭

Financial freedom is about more than money. It is about choosing what to do with your time. Show your kids that with financial understanding you have choices, build confidence, and live the life that reflects your values.

The way you interact with money becomes a powerful example for the next generation. Remember.. monkey see, monkey do!

Every conversation about money, every financial goal you pursue, and every step you take toward understanding your investments and building wealth helps shape the beliefs your daughter carries into adulthood.

Lead by example. Your financial habits today are shaping her financial confidence tomorrow.

I’ve been thinking a lot about family culture and how the same principles that build great teams at work can build stronger families at home.

When everyone understands the core values, expectations and common goal, parenting becomes less about constantly correcting behavior and more about reminding your kids what their family stands for.

A strong culture gives people a guiding light. It helps everyone understand what they are working toward and why it matters.

The same idea applies to your marriage, your business, your employees—or any group of people trying to accomplish something together. People behave differently when they feel like they belong to a team and are part of a culture.

And it applies to your finances too. Build a financial life that supports the team, the values, and the future you are creating together. 💰

When you need a chunk of cash you generally have two options: Borrow against your investment portfolio with margin, or borrow against your home with a HELOC.

Margin loans are quick and convenient. They can make sense for smaller borrowing amounts that you plan to repay within 12 to 18 months. But because your investments can fluctuate in value, borrowing too much could lead to a margin call if the market drops.

A HELOC, or Home Equity Line of Credit, is backed by your home’s equity instead of your investment account. While the interest rate is often higher, it can be a better fit for larger projects or longer repayment periods. If the funds are used for qualifying home renovations, the interest may even be tax deductible. 📈

The goal is not just to borrow money. It is to choose the strategy that keeps your investments working while supporting your long-term financial plan.

Did you know the modern retirement system is surprisingly new? 💡

The 401(k) did not exist until 1981, and the Roth IRA was not introduced until 1998. That means even the financial tools many of us rely on today have only been around for a few decades.

If investing feels confusing, you are not behind. You are learning a system that is still relatively new in the grand scheme of personal finance.

Give yourself some grace. Building wealth is not about knowing everything from day one. It is about taking consistent steps, asking questions, and continuing to learn over time.

The best investment you can make is getting started and staying informed.

One of the greatest financial gifts you can give your child is time.

Beginning July 4, 2026, eligible families can open a Trump Account for children at birth. These accounts allow up to $5,000 in annual contributions and, for qualifying children born in 2026 or 2027, include a $1,000 government funded contribution to help them start investing from day one.

What excites me most is the opportunity to teach the next generation about investing, compound growth, and long term wealth building from the very beginning.

BONUS: Here’s a tax strategy worth understanding.

While your child is young and not earning income, you can contribute to the account. Then, when they begin working, those early earning years may present an opportunity to convert some of those assets into a Roth IRA while they’re in a lower tax bracket. That could create decades of tax-free growth for their retirement!

Every family’s situation is different, so it’s important to work with a qualified financial and tax professional before making decisions about retirement account conversions.

The earlier you start investing, the more time compound growth has to work its magic.

Most people think becoming wealthy starts with cutting out every little expense. The truth is the biggest wealth builders often come from earning more, negotiating better, and investing consistently. A lower home purchase price, a better interest rate, or a higher salary can add up to tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars over your lifetime.

Yes, budgeting matters. But spending hours analyzing a $5 purchase while overlooking opportunities to negotiate your salary, your home purchase, or your mortgage rate can cost you far more in the long run.

Focus your energy where it creates the greatest return. That is how smart financial planning turns into long term wealth.

Build habits that move the needle instead of getting stuck in the small stuff.

Building wealth is important! But so is knowing what your wealth is ultimately for.

Learning about personal finance is not just about growing your portfolio. It is about building a strong understanding of where you stand, and having a plan so you can actually live your life during the in-between moments.
Summer is always a good reminder to pause, step away from the busy schedules, and enjoy the people who matter most. You just can’t put a value on spending time at the beach and making memories with your family.

With a financial plan in place you can be preparing for the future while still making room to enjoy today. ☀️
