This quote carries a strong biblical truth.
“It’s getting more and more uncomfortable for us to be comfortable in this world.”
Child of God, the reason this world feels heavier, darker, and more unsettling is because we were never meant to make this world our home. The more we walk with Christ, the more we feel the difference between His kingdom and this present world.
The Bible says in John 15:19 (KJV):
“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world… therefore the world hateth you.”
A true believer will feel uncomfortable in a world that keeps moving farther from God. What the world celebrates, the believer grieves over. What the world chases after, the believer learns to let go of. Why? Because our hearts belong to Jesus.
Hebrews 13:14 (KJV) says:
“For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.”
This world is temporary. Its pleasures fade. Its riches vanish. Its approval means little when eternity is before us. The discomfort we feel is often a reminder from God: Don’t settle here. Keep looking up. Keep pressing on. Keep your eyes on Christ.
And when the road feels lonely like the image—when you’re bowed in prayer and no one seems to understand—remember this:
1 Peter 5:7 (KJV):
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Jesus sees every burden. He hears every whispered prayer in the midnight hour. He strengthens the weary believer.
So if you feel less comfortable with the ways of this world, don’t be discouraged. That may be evidence that God is shaping your heart for heaven.
Live holy. Stay watchful. Pray without ceasing. Hold the line.
Because soon faith will become sight.
Philippians 3:20 (KJV):
“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
A believer may kneel in a dark world now—but soon we shall stand in the glorious light of our King. Amen.
