Home prices have been accelerating for 13 consecutive months as the demand for housing continues to outpace the supply of homes available.

Managing directors and global head of index investment strategy for S&P Dow Jones indices, Craig J. Lazzara, said, “We have previously suggested that the strength in the U.S. housing market is being driven in part by reaction to the COVID pandemic, as potential buyers move from urban apartments to suburban homes. June’s data are consistent with this hypothesis.” Lazzara continued, saying “This demand surge may simply represent an acceleration of purchases that would have occurred anyway over the next several years.”

FEDERAL HOUSING ADMINISTRATION TAKES STEPS TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO HOMEOWNERSHIP FOR THOSE WITH STUDENT LOAN DEBT

The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) announced updates to its student loan monthly payment calculations.

This change is to take steps to remove barriers and provide more access to affordable single family FHA-insured mortgage financing for creditworthy individuals with student loan debt.

The policy updates published for FHA Single Family Title II forward mortgages remove the current requirement that lenders calculate a borrower’s student loan monthly payment of one percent of the outstanding student loan balance for student loans that are not fully amortizing or are not in repayment.

In other words, getting a home is now easier than before! 🥳

6 Ways Owning a Home Could Save on Taxes:
