Before I knew anything about trading, I certainly loved the idea of the freedom trading could provide me. But getting started was a whole other story. 

Teaching myself to trade was an incredibly humbling process, and it was 9 months before I started to see any consistent gains. Even then I hit all sorts of walls.

It’s actually why I created “The Fundamentals of Day Trading” course. I wish I had a clear roadmap to get me started and to cut through all the noise I was finding online.

I’ll be hosting a live tomorrow with one of my beta students at 1p PST to discuss how having a trading community and mentorship helped jump start her journey to becoming a day trader.

That’s the million dollar question. If it’s so easy, why isn’t everyone doing it?

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but the very simple answer is, everyday people like you and me weren’t meant to have access to this world. This certainly wasn’t taught in school. The rich taught their kids how it worked, and the buck stopped there.

Then technology stepped in to give us access.

There’s no reason for it to be the mystery it’s been made out to be. The basic concepts are simple. I firmly believe they’re simple enough to teach a 10 year old. However, since we don’t teach these concepts early, and have created a lot of fear around finance, it feels dangerously like gambling.

And if you approach it like gambling, you will lose.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Instead, if you approach it like learning any other basic subject in school- with discipline, patience, practice, and a plan- you can absolutely be successful. But you need that discipline. And you need a plan.

Things you wonder, but don't want to ask.

Let's talk about Forex. If you've found yourself intimidated or confused by the idea of trading on the stock exchange, the foreign exchange market aka Forex Market is probably that much more of a mystery to you.

There is a lot of hype surrounding forex, which is why I personally shied away from them. Didn't explore, didn't even bother looking in that direction since I'm so opposed to anything that involves, what I call, MLM trade bro energy.

It was a huge missed opportunity.

The reason Hannah is on this team is because she's so damn good at breaking down the forex market and the systems necessary to understand and profit from them.

I was lucky enough to be connected to her, and now she's MY mentor learning how to navigate the forex markets.

I should have recognized, just like with day trading, with discipline, proven strategies, and a plan, that supposed risk is manageable. Trading forex provides an incredible means to grow a smaller account.

Both Hannah and I are self-taught traders. It was a slog. If you've ever explored the world of learning to trade via YouTube, you know how overwhelming and intimidating it is.

It's not that there isn't enough information out there, it's information overload. Finding someone to fill in the gaps and explain the basics feels impossible.

All those trade gurus assume you have a couple of years experience under your belt. It's like learning a foreign language without being given the alphabet, then starting on chapter 10 of the lesson plan.

We did it the hard way. We sifted through the information, tested strategies, made mistakes, and went through all the pain points of figuring out how to put it together.

When things clicked, we figured out that it doesn't have to be this hard.

We realized this could be made a lot more accessible, so we set out to do just that. Watch to see how.
