When you wake up do you love what you do? I remember the turning point for me in my career was listening to a philosopher known as Alan Watts. He simply suggests what would you rather do “live a long life spent in a miserable way doing something you don’t enjoy” or “live a short life filled full of what you love doing”.

It’s a simple thought suggestion but you know that so many of us do just that. We work in a job role we do not enjoy, that we are not passionate about or believe you CANT make that change needed.

I want to remind you about something we all seem to not talk about. Currently I’m 35, meaning if I live to 100 I’m 35% of the way through my best potential life. What have you achieved in your percentage? Is what you thought ? Are you doing what you truly want?

Your not stuck guys, chase what you truly want to do like it’s your last because one day you’ll be right.

On this day ten years ago, I fell in love with the markets. I started trading ten years ago today. I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years and grew alongside the company. I’ve put a few pictures of the journey, from our first office to our current one. What a journey it has been, and arguably now with over 400 of us we are one of the leading trade firm in the world helping traders and investors around the world get started in the most ethical, honest and trustworthy way. From education to live accounts into the six figures. It’s crazy to see how far we have come when looking back. I hope this post is a strong reminder to those budding traders out there, that it’s possible. With big risks and caffeine Samuel and Co was formed. I’m excited to see the future traders of Larry and Co and the future algorithms the team hits the market with. Much love everyone and thank you for the support.

I was talking with one of my traders the other day, and they asked “how do you always stay focused and drive these business ideas and stay positive all the time”. I thought it’s a great discussion point as I rarely open up or discuss my feelings on social media. However I thought it’s worth discussing as the honest truth is I’m not always positive and I really do struggle with positivity not because I’m depressed or down, but because I’m so hard on myself with standards. It somewhat becomes exhausting when you should feel accomplished on a task and still can’t drum up the positivity feeling you desire. So if your the same I’m just letting you know there’s someone else who can relate. I push myself to exhaustion, illness and often have sleepless nights. It’s not something I talk about often as it’s self inflicted. I’ve still not really learnt how to deal with it other than find myself visiting peaceful places like saunas, steam rooms, meditation places and genuinely learning through books on mindset,outlook and discovery. So if this post help one person,it was worth it. Just remember it’s okay.

Even though we are trading from home we still experience stress whilst trading. Trading the markets professionally carries a lot of stress, and dealing with it in the correct manner is the difference between winning and losing.
