1)The decline merely reflects less stockpiling in advance of summer.
2) Vehicles orders continue to drive the measure
3) Expect reversion in 3Q from the highest level on record.

1) Diversifactipn pays. Equities & Commodities up, Bonds down.
2) Equity style matters: Value and small size lead.
3) Sectors matter: Energy and Financials are on fire as the economic cycle heats up.

Three things to know about today's consumption report:
1. Consumption is 10% higher year/year and will slow as government transfers fade.
2. Goods expenditures are extraordinarily high and will revert over the second half of the year.
3. Surplus savings are abundant and will lift the service sector (and employment) in the summer.

Expect cost pressures (i.e., goods inflation) to moderate as demand eases in the fourth quarter and supply chains realign.
