🩷 October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time dedicated to honoring babies gone too soon, supporting grieving families, and raising awareness about pregnancy and infant loss.

In recognition of this important month, we’re honored to spotlight Aaliyah in Action, a nonprofit transforming the way families are supported following pregnancy and infant loss.

Founded by Liz O’Donnell following the stillbirth of her daughter, Aaliyah, the organization was built on a powerful belief: no family should have to begin their grief journey without tangible, compassionate support.

Since July 2021, Aaliyah in Action has distributed more than 3,500 Bereavement Support Kits to families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss. Today, they partner with more than 90 hospitals and healthcare organizations, support military families overseas, and send kits directly to families across the country—all at no cost to families.

Their work is also expanding through education and training for healthcare professionals, helping strengthen compassionate, equitable, and trauma-informed perinatal bereavement care.

💛 As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to thank everyone who joined us in supporting the Emma Jordon Kidz Fighting Cancer Foundation! 🎗️

Throughout September, we’ve had the privilege of sharing EJKFCF’s mission, raising awareness about pediatric cancer, and highlighting the importance of continued research, funding, and support for children and families facing this battle.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who liked, commented, shared, followed, attended a Gold Out event, or helped spread the word. Your support helps bring greater awareness to a cause that impacts so many children and families.

Although September may be ending, the fight against pediatric cancer continues. We’re proud to support EJKFCF and the incredible work they do to help fund pediatric cancer research and support families—including U.S. military families—navigating pediatric cancer treatment. 💛

🎗️ Childhood cancer can have lifelong effects.

Childhood cancer treatments require very different drugs than adult treatments, yet many use variations of adult drugs due to a lack of pediatric research and clinical trials.

According to the Emma Jordon Kidz Fighting Cancer Foundation's information, more than 99% of childhood cancer survivors will have a chronic health problem, and 96% will face severe or life-threatening conditions related to the treatments they received as children.

This is why we GO GOLD—not only for the children fighting today, but for better treatments and brighter futures tomorrow. 💛

There are more than 12 major types of childhood cancer and over 100 subtypes, yet only 4% of federal government cancer research funding goes toward studying pediatric cancer.

In the last 20 years, only 4 cancer treatments have been specifically developed and approved for children.

These numbers show why pediatric cancer research and nonprofit organizations are so important. 🎗️
