Dear Washington Square Residents,

After careful consideration and evaluation, we are pleased to announce that Washington Square has secured a new trash contractor, Alternative Waste, to manage our waste disposal needs. This new partnership will bring about several positive changes to our community.

Starting from next week (Tuesday, August 15), we will be implementing a revised trash and recycling collection schedule to better serve the needs of our community. Here are the details of the new schedule:

Trash Collection:

Tuesdays
Fridays
2. Recyclables Collection:

Fridays
We believe that this new schedule will streamline the waste collection process and contribute to the cleanliness and overall aesthetic of our community.

We understand that changes can sometimes bring about adjustments, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period. We are confident that Alternative Waste's expertise and commitment to efficient waste management will benefit us all in the long run.

Attention Residents: the new schedule for trash pickup and recycling is Monday only. Please do not put your items out for pickup before 7p.m. on Sunday.

If you have put your items out already, please take them back to your house/ rear yard so that trash and recycling items are is not left curbside over this weekend".

The American Disposal service change and reduction are not limited to Washington Square. Rather it is affecting all of Fairfax County.
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors is asking owners to let them know about the problems and frustrations they are dealing with. Please see attached
article from the Fairfax Newsletter. In it, you will find a link to
complete a form and an email to the solid waste compliance team.

Let your voice be heard. We management nor the Board of Directors can
do anything but collectively, if we put enough pressure on the Board of
Supervisors hopefully we can help initiate change. This will not only affect
American Disposal but potentially the entire waste management industry in our
area.
