Back to school season is here! 🎒

As you're checking off supply lists and getting routines back on track, there's one thing that often gets overlooked — your auto insurance coverage.

We don't think twice about driving our kids and their friends to school, sports, and activities... until something happens. Then we hope everything is covered.

Instead of hoping, let's take a few minutes to review your coverage together. Ohio has specific liability requirements, and making sure you're fully protected — for your family and the families you help get where they're going — is exactly what we're here for.

Give us a call at 440-984-3463 or text us at 440-210-9480. Let's make sure you're covered before the first bell rings! 🔔

Late summer is one of the best times to do a quick walk around your home with fresh eyes.

The same conditions that make summer in northern Ohio great — the humidity, the storms, the heat — can also take a quiet toll on the things that insurance cares about most.

Before fall sets in, a few things worth taking a look at:

Your roof — Any lifted or missing shingles after summer storms? Wind and hail claims are the most common we see. Catching damage early can mean the difference between a minor repair and a major claim.

Your gutters and drainage — Water intrusion claims often start with clogged gutters and improper drainage against the foundation.

Your sump pump — If you haven't tested it recently, now is a good time. A failed sump pump during a fall rain event is a costly surprise.

Your coverage limits — Have you made any home improvements this summer? New deck, updated kitchen, finished basement? These can affect your replacement cost and should be reflected in your policy.

None of these are complicated. A little attention now can save a lot of headache later.

Questions about your coverage heading into fall? Give us a call at 440-984-3463 or text 440-210-9480. We're always glad to help.

A few months ago, a local business owner reached out to us after landing the largest commercial job he had ever considered.

He had been in business for over a decade, had general liability coverage, and had never filed a claim. By all appearances, he was in good shape. But the new project required a certificate of insurance with higher limits than his current policy provided.

We got him placed with a carrier that matched both the required limits and his business profile, and he had his updated certificate in time for the project kick-off.

What stood out wasn't just that he was covered. It was that he had no idea the gap existed and we were able to close that gap for them.

That's the kind of conversation we love having before something happens. If you run a business and haven't reviewed your commercial coverage lately, now is a good time.

Most homeowners in Greater Cleveland have homeowners insurance. Fewer have the right amount of it.

Here's one of the most common coverage gaps we see: the home is insured for its market value rather than its replacement cost.

These two numbers can be very different — especially right now. Construction costs, labor, and materials have climbed significantly over the past several years. A home that would cost $450,000 to rebuild today might only be insured for $300,000 because the policy hasn't been updated since it was written.

In the event of a total loss, that gap becomes your responsibility.

Other common shortfalls we find during reviews include:

Liability limits that haven't kept pace with a family's growing assets
Missing umbrella coverage for households with rental properties, teen drivers, or significant net worth
ACV (actual cash value) policies that pay depreciated value instead of what it actually costs to replace

These aren't obscure policy details. They're the things that make the difference when a claim actually happens.

If your home policy is more than two years old, it's worth a second look. Call us at 440-984-3463 or text 440-210-9480 and we'll walk through it with you.

Back-to-school season is right around the corner, and for families with teen drivers, that means more miles on the road — new routes, after-school jobs, fall sports practices, and everything in between.

Before that first day of school arrives, it's worth asking one simple question: are your auto liability limits actually keeping up?

Ohio's state minimum is $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident. In a serious collision involving injuries, medical expenses, and potential legal costs, those limits can be exhausted quickly. When that happens, the remaining balance can become your personal responsibility.

As an independent agency, we work with multiple top-rated carriers to find the right fit for your family — not just the minimum. A quick policy review with our team can tell you exactly where you stand before the school year begins.

Call us at 440-984-3463 or text 440-210-9480. We're here to light the way.
