💡 : Unlock the Power of Your my Social Security Account!

Did you know that setting up a personal my Social Security account on SSA.gov is one of the easiest ways to take control of your future healthcare and retirement planning?

Whether you're decades away from retirement or already receiving monthly benefits, here are 4 quick ways to put your account to work for you:

1️⃣ Verify Your Earnings History 📈

Your future benefit amount is calculated based on your highest 35 years of earnings! Check your record yearly to make sure every dollar you’ve earned is reported accurately.

2️⃣ Estimate Future Benefits 🧮

Use the personalized interactive calculator to compare different retirement ages—see how claiming at 62, Full Retirement Age, or 70 changes your monthly income.

3️⃣ Download Instant Documents 📄

Need proof of income for a loan or a replacement SSA-1099 tax form? You can view and download official documents from home.

4️⃣ Protect Your Identity 🔒

Even if you aren’t ready to collect benefits yet, creating your account helps prevent identity thieves from fraudulently opening an account in your name.

📌 Getting Started: Visit SSA.gov and click "Create an Account" using Login.gov or ID.me for secure access.

💡 Tuesday Tip: Make Paying Your Medicare Premium Easier!

Did you know Medicare offers a FREE service that can automatically pay your Medicare premiums from your checking or savings account?

It’s called Medicare Easy Pay! 💳

👉 This tip is especially helpful if you’re NOT receiving Social Security benefits yet. For many people who are already receiving Social Security, their Medicare Part B premium is automatically deducted from their Social Security payment each month.

With Medicare Easy Pay:
✅ Your Medicare premium is automatically deducted from your bank account
✅ No stamps or checks to mail
✅ No need to remember to make a payment
✅ The amount automatically adjusts if your premium changes

It’s one of those little Medicare features that can make life just a little easier! 😊

🌴 THURSDAY RETIREMENT TIP 🌴

🚦 Have you heard of the “Retirement Red Zone”?

In football, the red zone is where every decision matters.

Retirement has a red zone, too. 😉

For many people, the 5 years before retirement and the 5 years after can be some of the most important years for making financial decisions.

During this time, you may be making decisions about:

💰 When to start Social Security
🏥 When and how to enroll in Medicare
📊 How to turn your savings into retirement income
🧾 How taxes could affect your retirement income
❤️ How much to budget for healthcare and unexpected expenses

The goal isn't simply to retire.

The goal is to retire with a plan that helps your money, healthcare coverage, and income work together.

If retirement is on your horizon, don't wait until your last day of work to start making these decisions.

📅 A little planning today can help you feel much more confident about tomorrow.

What part of retirement planning do you think is the most confusing?

💡

Did you know that your income can affect what you pay for Medicare?

It’s called IRMAA — the Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount — and it can add to your Medicare Part B and Part D premiums if your income is above certain levels.

Here’s the part many people don’t realize: Medicare looks at your tax return from two years earlier to determine whether IRMAA applies.

That means a major life event like retiring, selling a business, selling property, or experiencing another significant income change could potentially affect what you pay for Medicare.

💭 Wisdom is knowing that retirement planning and Medicare planning go hand in hand.

If you’re approaching retirement—or already retired—it’s worth looking at the big picture, not just your Medicare plan.

Navigating Medicare coverage for medical equipment doesn't have to be confusing! 🩺💡

If your doctor prescribes medically necessary equipment for use at home, Medicare Part B helps cover Durable Medical Equipment (DME). After meeting your Part B deductible, Medicare typically covers 80% of the approved amount, leaving you responsible for just 20% when using a participating supplier.

What kind of equipment is covered?
Medical equipment is eligible if it’s durable, used for a medical reason in your home, and expected to last at least 3 years. Common examples include:
• Walkers, wheelchairs, and crutches
• CPAP machines and oxygen equipment
• Hospital beds and commode chairs
• Continuous glucose monitors and testing supplies

How to get the most out of your coverage & keep costs low:
To avoid unexpected out-of-pocket expenses, it is critical to use a Medicare-approved supplier who accepts "assignment" (meaning they accept the Medicare-approved payment amount).
