Happy New Year! After 41 years of building this business, Tom is off into his retirement journey. I am so grateful to have had him as a mentor along the way.
I walked into this office 12 years ago on a recommendation from a friend who was his client. She was persistent this would be a good fit for me. I took the job offer. It was so different from anything I had done, but over time I really fell in love with it. It spoke to my nurturing side with taking care of clients and protecting their assets. To me, it is really all about educating our customers to understand their risk threshold and how to balance that out in insurance.
Five years ago, Tom started talking about retirement and I started to panic a little. What was I going to do?! I was incredibly comfortable and blessed to have such a position that was also conducive to having a family.
After weeks of thinking about it, I remember walking into Tom’s office with sweaty palms and asking, “Would you ever consider selling to me?” I don’t know what motivated me to do that - afterwards I had SUCH a lack of confidence if this is something I could actually commit to.
But…… here we are today. Today marks the day I worked towards, lost sleep over, but also feel a deep excitement for.
Thank you Tom for your patient guidance. What a blessing to have had your support both professionally and personally over the years.
Thank you to the team at Nick Hansel’s District Management office (especially Andy) for answering my 18,000 calls and emails even up until yesterday afternoon.
Thank you to my staff, Jeff and Matt, who have been so flexible with all the twists and turns in the last few months. I am grateful to have them on the team.
Thank you to my husband, James, who is unwavering in his faith in me while I get lost in moments of worry.
And God. Who always has a better path in mind than me.
Here is to 2026! 🥂
