During the month of November there is a growing nationwide focus on getting Veterans the resources and skills needed to get back on their feet and succeed, in particular to start their own businesses. So while there are personal benefits, such as a VA loan towards a home purchase (https://www.veteransunited.com/va-loans/), below are links and info for free entrepreneurial focused resources for Veterans:
https://www.sba.gov/tools/local-assistance/vboc - The Veteran Business Outreach Center (VBOC) is a wealth of information, business resources, training, and coaching for Veterans through the SCORE program.
http://boots2business.org/ - Boots to Business is a resource typically offered as part of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP), although I understand you may access these resources at any time. There is a great two day business work-shop as well as an intensive 8-week program to assist with developing a business plan, tips and techniques for starting a business.
http://www.nadco.org/?page=vetloan - VetLoan Advantage Program offers low down payment, fixed rate financing for purchase of commercial/industrial buildings and equipment (although there are ownership and occupancy restrictions).
Please pass these resources on to every Veteran you know as an expression of your gratitude. You never know who's life you may inspire, forever change, or save through your actions.
Freedom, free trade, and peace are not free...
Thank You to all of our Veterans who have served and sacrificed their lives to protect our freedoms. And thank you to their family members who stayed strong and offered support, encouragement, hope and a warm welcome home - with many family members taking on additional responsibilities/hardships when their loved one(s) returned. They too deserve our gratitude and recognition.
