Anyone that has an Anthem Advantage Plan WITH Medicaid in the state of KY will be losing the features of this plan at the end of February. You will be disenrolled from this plan as Anthem has lost their contract with KY Medicaid.

The Anthem Advantage plans WITHOUT Medicaid ARE NOT AFFECTED. Please disregard anything you hear about those plans.

It’s that time of year again and it’s your opportunity to look at making changes to your Medicare plan enrollment. There are a lot of changes this year, both good and bad, that will affect each of you differently based on your health care needs. There are some of you that may have even received notification from Humana that your present plan is no longer available. Please feel free to contact me to discuss alternative plans and answer any questions that you may have. It’s going to be a very busy enrollment period, but I can assure you I will return your call in a timely manner!

We are now inside the open enrollment period for Medicare. If you have any questions or are unhappy with the plan you have please give me a call. If you have been affected by the issues between the Baptist Health network and certain advantage plans then please give me a call and we can look at great plan that will most likely keep you from having to change your current doctors.

We are getting closer to Medicare open enrollment and as we do so you will see your uninvited phone calls increase from people hoping to change your existing plan. Please remember Medicare will NEVER call you, unless you have written in to them asking for a response to a concern or you have called them and specifically asked for a return phone call. Medicare will send you mail if they need to discuss something with you. Do NOT give out your Medicare identification number over the phone unless you are wanting someone to switch your existing plan. That is the only reason you are receiving that phone call. Please feel free to contact myself or anyone in our office with any questions. Also, beginning Oct. 1 we will be able to discuss any 2024 plan information for the open enrollment period that runs Oct. 15-Dec. 7

There are 5 days left for Medicare open enrollment. If you are happy with what you have then it will roll right over for next year. If you are not happy then it will roll right over too unless you make a change. If you’ve enrolled with someone over the phone and you don’t know who that was then you aren’t going to get a lot of help if you need it down the road. Enrolling in a plan with an agent you can see face to face ensures that you will have someone to help you when you need it. Don’t fall for the tv/phone switch. The benefits are exactly the same as those from your local agent and the help you receive from us is over and above.

Are you under 65 without any health insurance? Or are you working and your premium at your job is 9% or more of your gross income? The tax credit for health plans has increased again for 2023 and has made it more affordable to get coverage. If you are a single person or married and your total income is under 50k a year then you both may be able to get coverage for $100–350 per month. Even incomes above this amount have very affordable plans. If you are married and your combined income is under 24k a year then you may both qualify for Medicaid under the new Medicaid expansion. Open enrollment ends Dec. 15. Give me a call and by the end of the day I’ll give you a rate. It’s that simple.
