⚠️ Cybercrime is hitting closer to home in Utah.

This year, a county right here in northern Utah had its systems breached in a ransomware attack. Government systems were locked out, and the fallout made headlines across the state.

IF local governments with IT staff and budgets can get taken down, you can imagine how vulnerable small businesses are? Hackers know small businesses often run lean on cybersecurity, which makes them an easy target.

To make matters worse, scammers are now using AI to impersonate executives or employees with fake emails and even cloned voices. These social engineering tricks are becoming more common, and they’re catching people off guard.

Bottom line: Utah businesses of all sizes are on the radar. If your company uses email, stores customer info, or processes payments, you’re a potential target. Awareness is step one. Having a plan in place for when—not if—something happens is step two.
