EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY | Due to the wording of Gov. Newsom's statements earlier today regarding the closures, there was some confusion in regards to how long businesses will have to close. We reached out to the governor's office for clarification. It is NOT three days. Effective immediately, the counties that have been on the state's watch list for 3 consecutive days — of which there are 30 total — are to close indefinitely the indoor operations of the business sectors listed above.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has announced new restrictions in place, effective immediately, that impact indoor dining services, bars, and other businesses throughout the state.
If a county is on the state's watch list — like Sacramento, Placer, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Yolo and Yuba counties — then fitness centers, places of worship, personal care services, and malls will close. In total, 30 counties are now on the state's watch list.
