Another School Year Comes to an End 🎓
As another school year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on just how much growth can happen in a single year. 🌱
This year, I had a front row seat watching both of my daughters face challenges, overcome obstacles, and grow into even more incredible young women. 👧👧
One of the highlights of the year was watching Myla earn Highest Honors. 🏆 I couldn't be more proud of her. What makes that accomplishment even more meaningful is that Melissa and I intentionally took a big step back this year. We weren't checking every assignment, managing every project, or constantly reminding her what needed to be done. She took ownership of her responsibilities and learned how to manage them herself. 💪
Another special moment came during Myla's final 5th-grade play. 🎭 She played the unforgettable role of Betty Banana Peel. 🍌 Sitting in the audience, I found myself amazed at how much she has grown. When it came time for her solo performance, her voice was beautiful, confident (her One Word for 26'), and remarkably mature (her One Word for 25'). 🎤✨ In that moment, I wasn't just watching my little girl on stage, I was seeing a young lady expanding her gifts and her confidence.
Macie had an incredible year as well. 🌟 As a freshman, she balanced a demanding academic schedule while maintaining high grades throughout the year. 📚 At the same time, she earned a spot on the varsity water polo team 🤽♀️ — an impressive accomplishment for any freshman — and then transitioned directly into basketball season on the JV team. 🏀
What impressed me most wasn't simply her ability to juggle school and sports. It was her willingness and effort (her One Word for 26') to show up day after day, even when the days were long. ⏰ Early morning practices, games, homework, workouts, and the normal challenges that come with being a freshman could have easily become overwhelming. Instead, she continued to push forward with determination and resilience. 🔥
Life is really about who we become during the journey 🛤️ — and I'm so proud of who my girls are becoming. ❤️
Warmly, Mark Massa
